Dear Visitor...

Hello there! I hope you had fun browsing my second Saiyuki fanlisting and please join this quaint little fanlisting if you haven't done so already. In some ways, this miniature site is just another excuse for me to take a really pretty Saiyuki picture and transform it into an eye-pleaser website. Saiyuki is just overflowing with gorgeous artwork (most of which are simply begging to be used in a layout).

As for the song, I absolutely adore it! It is definitely up there on my Top 10 list of anime songs. It has a beautiful melody and touching lyrics and it goes so well with the "life lessons" that Saiyuki bestows upon its viewers. They always seem to play it at exactly the right moment in the anime as if to say even if all you can see is despair, don't ever give up hope - don't ever give up the will to live. I've had times when I listen to this song on repeat non-stop for a duration of a week or more. It gives me such a beautiful, peaceful feeling and is so spiritually uplifting.

With a song like this - you know that the site would get a cheesy name! And I'm sure it didn't disappoint, although I believe that "Tomorrow" is the least corny name that I could have chosen and still capture the meaning of the song. At first, when I first applied for the fanlisting, I wanted to name it "Kiseki" - which is Japanese for "miracle". And I used that name the entire time I was sketching the layout. However, after looking at it multiple times, I realized that it just sounded pretty (and cheesy), but it didn't really capture the essence of the song. There's really no mention of anything "miraculous" in the lyrics no matter how much I deluded myself.

So I basically read and re-read the lyrics for ideas. I really liked "Mirai" - Japanese for "future" - as it suits the theme of the song very well and the word is sang in the middle of the song. However, it didn't really work in the end because it would give the site the same name as the song artist - that would make it confusing, to say the least. Then "Tomorrow" came into mind and I realized that it captured the meaning of the song perfectly.

Even if everything's hopeless - you're scared and have nowhere to go, the world seems to be against you, your heart is breaking... You still have to conjure up to the courage and hope to move forward and to live for the future because no one can see into tomorrow. The song's message is to never give up on yourself no matter what because tomorrow's a brand new day.

Hope to see you again! xoxoxo
